John "Johnnie"/"Johnny" Lawrenson (29 March 1921 — 28 March 2010(2010-03-28) (aged 88)[1]) was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s, '40s and '50s, and coach of the 1960s who at representative level has played for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Wigan, and Workington Town, playing at Wing, i.e. number 2 or 5, and at club level coached for Wigan.
Lawrenson won caps for England while at Wigan in 1939 against Wales, in 1940 against Wales, in 1941 against Wales, in 1946 against Wales (2 matches), in 1948 against Wales, and France, in 1949 against Wales, and Other Nations, while at Workington in 1950, and for Great Britain while at Wigan in 1948 against Australia (3 matches).[2]
